Worktable with Motorized Lift

What I built during COVID.

Tools and Work Space - How do you balance it?

This worktable houses a board planer and a scroll saw on motorized lift.  At the press of a button the lift raises the tool to operational level.

This project was inspired by watching a YouTube video on a lift to raise a computer monitor from behind the desk to level with the top of the desk.    The Mechanism for raising the tools uses 4 threaded rods with sprockets on the bottom end.  A chain turns the sprockets when power is applied to the attached motor.  The motor is DC so just reverse the wires and the lift goes the opposite direction.  A limit switch is placed at the top and bottom to automatically stop the raising or lowering when a set point is reached.  The worktable top has removable sections for the tools to rise through.
